As most of others Slovak castles also castle Divin has been built during 13. century to protect rich Slovak mining cities against Turkish attacks. Even though the castle has very well built fortification was the castle conquered by Turkish soldiers in year 1575. Only after almost 20 years was the castle conquered by Kings army. The fatal end of the castle was in 1683 when the Emperors army destroyed the castle and set it on fire.
